About
What is this?
Mommy Misadventures is just the latest in my online forays. I’ve kept several online journals over the years and for the past two years, have kept a majority of my blogs private. But after giving birth to my daughter, I discovered that I wanted a place where I could write about my misadventures in parenthood to a more general audience.
In September 2008, I formally quit my job as an IT professional in order to stay home with my daughter. To supplement the family income, I decided to take the plunge I’ve been dreaming of and pursued my dream of becoming a freelance writer. Instead of keeping this huge life change to myself, I decided to share my experience online. And so Mommy Misadventures was born.
Eventually, the blog became less about my transition from IT professional to freelance writer and more about my life as a mother and homemaker. Tempted by the idea of earning money from my blog, I tried my hand at transitioning Mommy Misadventures to become a content rich, SEO-utilizing, money making blog. Not only did I fail miserably, the experience left me so disheartened that after months of failing to get myself interested in niche writing, I stopped writing altogether.
Eventually, I realized that not blogging was making miserable. So I started writing again. Am I making money? No. But I’m happier now. And really, isn’t that all that matters?
