DIY Meitai

I now present… my very first DIY meitai! Tada!

I know it’s pretty wonky looking. In fact, it IS completely wonky. There’s no action shot because I goofed and made the body and top straps far too short to carry The Little Empress. I (very unwisely) thought I would change some measurements to better fit the smaller stature of The Little Empress. Bleh. Since the carrier is pretty much unwearable, it will eventually be cut up and reborn into a doll carrier for The Little Empress.

Though wonky and unwearable, making this meitai has been a good learning experience. I’ll definitely be paying MUCH CLOSER heed to any pattern/tutorial and will also take the time and effort to practice the techniques necessary for making a pretty, wearable carrier next time. I’ve already got my eye on making a Scandi-style MT following this tutorial. I’ll be taking some time first to practice before daring to make anything, though
