Since it was a given that today would be a historic election, I decided to do a “Day in the Life” photo essay of my day. Which… only ended up being about four or five hours of my day since my camera battery died in the middle of it and even after I charged it, I forgot to take photos. Oops.
In any case, here’s some select photos from my day from the time I woke up to about midday…
It’s 7:58AM! … which is bad because we were actually planning to hit the polls around 8:00AM. Oops.
The Little Empress was already awake and waiting on Mommy… as usual. Mommy is a sleepyhead.
First thing is first — changing time for The Little Empress. She was very happy to be out of her soggy dipey!
Next — a much needed shower for Mommy.
The Little Empress waits for Mommy… somewhat patiently.
Now Mommy is showered and dressed, time to head downstairs
Taking a last look at the propositions and making a cheat sheet to take into the booth so I remember what I wanted to vote for and why.
We get into the car and then head to the polling place, maybe 5 minutes away from our house at the local elementary school.
Ten minutes later, we were done! The Little Empress also got a sticker for hanging out with Mommy in the voting booth.
After voting, it was back into the car to get breakfast. The Little Empress wasn’t thrilled with the prospect.
Mommy’s breakfast — cream cheese and marmalade stuffed French toast. Yummy! It makes me want to go back for some more.
After breakfast, back home to do some chores.
But first, The Little Empress demands to nurse.
… and we both fall asleep and wake up almost an hour later!
Time to change The Little Empress again!
And change her sleeper while she’s at it. Now look at her sporting that awesome iPoo’d onesie (courtesy one of Mommy’s former colleagues.)
That took us until about 12:30PM at which point my batteries died. Foo.
